With the summer slate of Air Jordans well underway, the Air Jordan 6 will soon release with a new “Reverse Oreo” treatment.
In 2010, the Air Jordan 6 “Oreo” got its first and only release to date. It featured black nubuck underlays to distinguish itself from this year’s treatment and inspired a “Red Oreo” edition in 2022 using its namesake color in place of black with the same arrangement as the “Reverse Oreo.” An Air Jordan 6 football cleat from 2014 was also given the “Oreo” nickname, but it didn’t utilize the speckled pattern.
Michael Jordan wore the Air Jordan 6 during his first NBA championship, giving it a special place among sneakerheads to this day. Only one other colorway of the sneaker has released so far this year, a “Yellow Ochre” edition that was also brand-new, as the Air Jordan 6 has largely taken a backseat to other models in recent years. The shoe is also expected to return this summer in its “Olympic” colorway worn by Jordan for the 1992 “Dream Team” but not given a retail release until 2000. Jordan will welcome its return because it’s more true to form to the original than the version that dropped in 2012.
The Air Jordan 6 “Reverse Oreo” will release June 8 through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $200.
