Schiaparelli took to social media on Wednesday to tease one of its new spring 2025 footwear styles ahead of its ready-to-wear show Thursday night in Paris.
In a Twitter post on Wednesday, the French luxury brand showcased a two-toned version of what appears to be its Trompe-L’oeil Toe Mules. The shoes appear alongside the caption, “#SCHIAPARELLI READY-TO-WEAR SS25 BY #DANIELROSEBERRY. THURSDAY 7 PM, PARIS.”
FN has reached out to Schiaparelli for confirmation of the shoe’s specific details, but the style features a gradient colorway of pale green and blue and features the brand’s signature gold toenails. The spring-like color palette may serve as a signal to what’s to come from tomorrow’s show.
On Instagram, Schiaparelli also teased a new set of slip-on mules that feature its signature surrealist toe motif. The styles, which appear to be made in leather, are seen in the social media post in both metallic silver and gold colorways. The image of the shoes were included in a larger slideshow post with the caption, “TOMORROW. THE NEW READY-TO-WEAR SHOW. LIVE FROM PLACE VENDÔME.”

These teasers come just days after Schiaparelli released its fall/winter 2024 ready-to-wear campaign. The special project was shot in collaboration with photographer Johnny Dufort and features model’s wearing the label’s newest collection around Paris’ iconic Place Vendôme, which also happens to be the home of Schiaparelli’s atelier. Shoes featured in the campaign included the Bijoux Mules “S” heel and the Keyhole Low Boots “S” heel.
Schiaparelli made more footwear headlines in April when its designer Daniel Roseberry debuted the label’s first-ever sneakers. First seen on its spring ‘24 ready-to-wear runway show in Paris last September, Schiaparelli’s first-ever sneaker is an update on the timeless high-top canvas model. Roseberry’s take on the classic is made in ecru canvas and is reimagined with the house’s signature golden trompe l’oeil toes done in brass. The style also features an irregular measuring tape design that adorns the edges of the sole, and a trompe l’oeil footprint is seen underneath the shoe.
“It’s the fantasy of couture made for the street,” Roseberry said in a statement at the time. “This sneaker is particularly meaningful to me because it symbolizes what I am: an American in Paris. It embodies the meeting of two worlds: American comfort and the rigor of French chic.”
Since signing on as artistic director to the brand in 2019, Roseberry has deftly reintroduced both inner fashion circles and the masses to the wonderful, wacky world of Elsa Schiaparelli, the Italian fashion designer who was once Coco Chanel’s rival and helped to usher in the truly modern fashion of the 20th century.
Schiaparelli’s continuous influence of surrealism lies at the core of the brand as the founder befriended and collaborated with artists such as Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau on jewels and accessories back in the 1930s and 1940s. Notably, several of the Italian designer’s original surrealist pieces resurfaced for the label’s fall ’20 show at Paris Couture Week.
